WHY WE'RE HERE.
We started TILIT with the goal of offering expertly built, beautifully designed and hyper functional workwear to the hospitality world. As a working chef for almost 18 years Co-Founder Alex McCrery felt his uniform did not represent the pride and value that his career profession deserved. Not only was he underwhelmed with the market offerings for chef wear, but his coworkers and colleagues also longed for great workwear. Through rigorous testing, creative collaborations and a lot of sweat TILIT was born in the Fall of 2012. The rest is history.
WHO WE ARE.
We are hospitality. We aim to give you, our partners, the same experience you give your customers. We pride ourselves in understanding what goes into your everyday, responding to it with great clothing and then standing behind our goods to make sure you're not just satisfied, but wowed by the details and quality that have gone into our production process. We aim to make your brand experience shine, whether that's through our stock uniform program or working with your creative minds to implement a one of a kind custom uniform. Hospitality is in everything we do, it's who we are.
HOW WE STARTED.
Jenny Goodman and Alex McCrery met working in Commander's Palace Restaurant, New Orleans almost 20 years ago, a text book BOH and FOH marriage. They've been entiwined with hospitality ever since. TILIT started as a part time hustle, learning & growing with every step and the few dollars they had scraped together. By listening to the industry and responding with product improvements they've grown from an idea into the most exciting workwear company in Hospitality.
YOU'VE GOT LOTS OF QUESTIONS. SO WE TOOK A FEW MINUTES TO JOT DOWN WHAT WE THOUGHT YOU MIGHT ASK, AS WELL AS SOME RIDICULOUS THINGS WE HOPE YOU DON'T ASK.

Where TILIT Fits in a Working Hospitality Kit
Quick orientation
This page is the high-level context for TILIT. If you are here with a practical goal, kitting a line, standardizing a team uniform, or rounding out a FOH set, the fastest path is to start from the category that matches the role and dress code you are solving for.
Pick a starting point by role
- Coats and chef jackets: start in Chef Coats when you need the full spread of silhouettes and finishes.
- Pants: use Chef Pants for a top-level view, then move to fit-specific options for the wearers on your team.
- Aprons: head to Chef Aprons when coverage, pocket layout, and tie style matter more than the garment underneath.
- Shirts: for a collared look that still reads kitchen-ready, start in Chef Workshirts.
Team uniforms and programs
If you are building consistency across multiple roles, use the dedicated uniform pages to stay organized around use case and presentation:
- Restaurant Uniforms for role-based outfitting across BOH and FOH.
- Hotel Uniforms for guest-facing teams that need a consistent visual language across departments.
- Custom Uniforms when you are coordinating a specific look across a set of garments and sizes.
For apron-heavy programs, two common paths are team quantity ordering through Bulk Aprons For Hospitality Teams and logo-forward builds through Custom Embroidered Aprons.

Apron material direction in two clicks
If you already know you want a fabric-forward apron, start with Waxed Canvas Aprons. If you are still choosing based on coverage, pocket layout, and station needs, stay in Chef Aprons and narrow from there.
Collared shirt setups
When FOH needs a collared uniform that still works through prep and service, the cleanest navigation is Chef Workshirts first, then build the rest of the kit around the coat or apron standard you run.
Frequently Asked Questions About TILIT Workwear and Uniforms
Where should I start if I need a full BOH kit?
Start with Chef Coats for the outer layer standard, then add Chef Pants for movement and all-shift comfort. Round it out with Chef Aprons for coverage and pockets, and Chef Workshirts when the station calls for a collared shirt.
What is the difference between the Restaurant Uniforms and Hotel Uniforms pages?
Restaurant Uniforms is a straightforward entry point for outfitting BOH and FOH roles under one program. Hotel Uniforms is useful when you are coordinating guest-facing teams across departments and need a cohesive look that still respects each role’s day-to-day work.
Can we add a logo to team aprons?
For logo placement on aprons, start with Custom Embroidered Aprons to see the embroidery-forward path. If your program extends beyond aprons into coordinated garments, Custom Uniforms is the better hub for building a consistent, role-based set.
When does it make sense to choose White Chef Coats vs Short Sleeve Chef Coats?
White Chef Coats fit kitchens that run a formal visual standard and want whites that stay sharp through service details like snap closures and apron-tab placement. Short Sleeve Chef Coats are the clean call when ventilation and forearm freedom matter most, with breathable-panel placement called out in the line.
Do you carry women’s fit chef pants?
Yes. Women’s Chef Pants are built around a women’s fit, with the collection calling out breathable, machine-washable fabrics plus stretch and structure for kitchen movement. If you are setting a broader pant standard across the whole team, start at Chef Pants and branch into men’s and women’s fit as needed.
